Reasons and seasons

There’s a lot of sayings about people coming into your life, some about the amount of time, some the reasons why. All of them have a lot of realness and can tug at anyone who reads them. Because it’s all so true, we all have people who come and go from our lives. The reasons may not be clear at the time, or ever, but it happens.

I guess that not everyone is meant to stay in your life forever! It can be a hard pill to swallow especially when there are some people you’d never have imagined walking out of your life. Whether it’s a friendship, family members or someone else that may not fit into a category but had meaning in your life. Sometimes it’s revealed later in life as to why they aren’t there anymore or why they’d been in our lives. However, if we see the why is a whole other story as well.

I’ve personally lost friendships where they literally just stopped talking to me, no big fight, no conversations before hand as to why. Just plain and simple talking best friends one day to NOTHING the next! I can go over conversations in my head and not come up with any reasons why it would happen either. Especially because the timing of this “break up” was the worst for me. That’s how it goes though nothing happens at a good time always the worst.

It happened to me and a family member a long time ago. I can tell you almost to the date on that one the why and when that relationship shifted and it’s never been the same since. There’s been times I thought fences were on the way to being mended and then…..nope back to the same.

I write all this to say that even the shortest friendships can have the greatest impacts! Sometimes having someone walk in and out of your life even for a moment really can give you a new insight and a new look on life. I had it happen to me, I had an old friend come back in and then pretty quickly back out of my life. I keep telling myself there’s got to be a good reason and that possibly it was just to remember parts of me I’ve lost or pushed aside over time. I also try to analyze the conversations and overthink it all to possibly figure out the answer to why it happened that way, because that’s just how I am.

All of it always just brings my thoughts back to statements like “everything happens for a reason” or “it is what it is” and the quotes I mentioned already about how some people are meant to only be a part of your life for a day or a season or something like that.

We all have seasons of life and people and friendships we’d never expected to have, but I do truly believe that it’s for a reason. While the reason may not come to us right away, or ever, there’s always a reason! So try not to dwell to hard on it all and keep growing in life from these seasons and changes!
